SUMMARY:  You will be assigned to a managed services team within a large multinational client and be responsible for LAN-WAN projects associated with office builds, expansions and refreshes. On the networking side you will mainly work with Cisco equipment.  

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Deliver successful internal IT projects in a global managed service environment.
  • Represent the client’s IT department during the implementation of intelligent network projects.
  • Communicate and report effectively on project status to the client as well as internally.
  • Staging, implementing, testing and hand off to Network Operations team of network infrastructure projects and technologies.
  • Be creative pro-active and take initiative to optimize and improve the engineering team.
  • Travel where necessary to support multiple client site builds and refresh projects.

 COMPENTENCY:

  • Hands on Layer 3 routing experience required
  • Hands on Layer 2 switching experience required
  • TCP/IP stack, BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols experience required
  • Cisco IP Telephony skills highly desired
  • Knowledge of QoS, MPLS, VoIP and Wireless LAN are required
  • Experience with Cisco IOS XE/NXOS configuration and troubleshooting is a must
  • Experience with Cisco and/or Aruba wireless is a must
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and PAN-OS highly desired
  • Unix/Linux scripting or automation (shell, Python, Ansible) highly desired
  • Security (ACLs, VPNs, 802.1x) experience desired
  • Knowledge and experience with wireless predictive and testing tools

 REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science or equivalent desired.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years hands on network engineering with Implementations or Operations experience with emphasis on enterprise LAN and WAN infrastructure
  • CCNP level of certification or equivalent

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

English written and verbal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

CCNP or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

If required, ability to rack stack and patch routers or switches in an MDF / IDF environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

On site at customer office location Dublin Ireland

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 9am- 5pm

TRAVEL: 

Occasional domestic or international travel may be required.
