The Senior Network Contract Manager of Network Contracting is responsible for contracting and relationship management activities in support of an assigned group of payors. This role will work to develop and maintain positive relationships with payors that yield results and drive client satisfaction and will play an active role by managing contractual obligations and compliance, contract negotiations, operational needs and relationship needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and assist with contractual negotiations
  • Develop and execute on payor strategy development
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of payor's business as well as their contracts with Optum
  • Provide positive alternatives to complex situations encountered by payors and manage expectations
  • Escalate payor concerns internally and to help solve complex issues
  • Communicate effectively with payors via face-to-face meetings, conference calls and written correspondence
  • Manage contractual obligations including but not limited to contract compliance
  • Be a self-starter, produce quality work, make decisions, and deliver on commitments

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven extensive experience in contract management
  • Proven experience in pharmacy or healthcare environments
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Proven extensive experience in provider or payor relations and/or network management
  • Proven extensive experience in negotiation
