Senior Manager, Finance Business Partnering

Dublin 18, Leopardstown

As an integral component of ICON's overall Finance group, the Finance Business Partnering team is dedicated to shaping and guiding financial strategy to support the execution of ICON’s broader objectives. We understand that in the world of clinical research, effective financial management is crucial not only for operational success but also for pioneering advancements in healthcare. Our division stands at the forefront of financial planning, analysis, and advisory. 

We are looking for strategic financial leaders with a passion for driving business performance. 

As a Senior Manager of Finance Business Partnering, you will play a key role in supporting and guiding our business leaders through financial decision-making processes. This role is vital to ensuring that financial strategies align with overall business objectives, helping the organisation to maximise profitability and operational efficiency. You will act as the trusted adviser to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and strategic financial support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial management of assigned large and complex global portfolios.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership teams to align financial goals with business strategy.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for VPs with insightful commentary and analysis. Ensuring that business decisions are driven by data.
  • Partner with various departments to ensure financial targets are met and financial performance is optimised.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for the board, executive leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead business case evaluations for new initiatives.
  • Leading and mentoring Finance colleagues to support performance and team development.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: Proven experience within financial business partnering or senior finance management role. Supporting complex, global organisations. Strong experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Skills:   Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. The ability to navigate a large and complex global organisation. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills (e.g., financial modelling)
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and mentor a team.  Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Business Acumen: Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.  A strategic thinker with the ability to solve complex problems and navigate ambiguity.
  • Qualifications: A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and a degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
