About the Role

 

We’re looking for a Senior Manager for the Engineering Program Management Office (PMO). We are committed to delivering high-quality solutions and driving growth through effective project management, stakeholder management and strategic planning. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our engineering PMO team.

 

As a Senior Manager in the engineering PMO, you will manage a team and support the coordination, implementation, and management of product portfolios, programs and projects for cross-functional teams. You will manage a team of Global program managers and work closely with the VP of Engineering Strategy and Operations and other Engineering Leaders and stakeholders to ensure that programs and projects are completed on time, within scope, within budget and to high standards of quality. This role will also work closely with R&D Operations to help ensure feature adoption. 

 

While managing a team is the core responsibility, there will be times when the person in this role is asked to be hands-on and manage their own projects or programs. This role is designed for individuals with a strong interest in technical project management who are also looking to have a career in management.

 

This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Novi Sad in Serbia.

 

 

Technologies You’ll Use

 

Familiarity with JAVA, C, Github, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, SAP, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, Zendesk, New Relic, Grafana, Snyk, BuildKite, CloudBeaver, Jira, Slab

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership and Development - Mentor and support team members, providing guidance and feedback while promoting professional development and growth within the team
  • Process Improvement - Continuously evaluate and refine technical program management practices and work with partner groups in Engineering and Product for cross-functional processes
  • Stakeholder Communication - Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, including senior management, engineering teams, and other partners
  • Documentation and Reporting - Maintain and hold the team accountable to documenting program plans, progress, and changes including reports, metrics, and lessons learned
  • Quality Assurance - Ensure that deliverables meet quality standards and follow release processes
  • Program Planning and Strategy - Support the team in establishing timelines and milestones for engineering delivery
  • Program & Portfolio Management  - Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams to ensure alignment, timely delivery, and help manage dependencies
  • Technical Oversight - Ensure that technical solutions align with architectural standards and best practices; facilitate problem-solving
  • Risk Management - Identify, assess, and manage program risks and issues, including the development of risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans

Skills We’re Looking For

  • At least 5-10 years managing, mentoring and coaching team members
  • 7-10 years of experience in project management with a proven track record of managing programs and projects from inception to completion via a wide range of methodologies
  • A deep understanding of specific Program/Project Management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and Lean methodologies. 
  • An ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Deep understanding of technical processes, especially a familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Industry relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) not required but a strong plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking that support problem-solving
  • A passion for scaling processes and teams to meet the Enterprise
