The Opportunity
Workhuman iQ is our AI-powered people analytics and cultural intelligence platform. You’ll be joining the WHiQ team, a cross-functional squad of engineers bringing together expertise across Machine Learning, Backend, Frontend, and QA. The team owns and develops the user experience for the Workhuman iQ application as well as the people leader focused team analytics with customer-facing experiences. They are responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining high-quality features that bring Workhuman's vision to life for our customers. This includes close collaboration across engineering, product, and design to deliver intuitive, performant, and scalable solutions. As a Senior ML Engineer, you’ll help shape technical direction, build scalable solutions, and mentor other engineers.

You’ll get to lead technically while working alongside design and product to shape impactful solutions.
The skills you bring:
Strong experience in production-grade Machine Learning models, Agentic AI and their deployments on the cloud (at least 2+ years).
Senior-level understanding and proficiency in software engineering concepts (SDLC), from translating requirements to technical assignments, to basic foundations like DNS, Databases (SQL & NoSQL), cloud computing (AWS or others), Linux, Git, etc.
Expertise in designing and implementing scalable ML/Development leveraging 5-7+ years of experience.
Proficiency in developing and optimising data pipelines for large-scale ingestion, transformation, analytics, and real-time querying.
Experience building backend integrations with AWS services (ECS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS, Neptune, CloudFront, ALBs, Amazon Redshift).
Experience in building secure, reliable, and performant services, leveraging AWS, and observability tooling (Splunk).
Knowledge of Git and collaborative engineering practices to drive quality and consistency.
Achievements:
Implemented best practices in security, authentication, and performance optimisation in backend systems, resulting in more robust, secure, and efficient applications.
Mentored and guided junior engineers, promoting coding, architecture, MLOps and DevOps best practices, enhancing team capabilities and overall delivery quality.
Designed and delivered analytics features enabling real-time insights and interactive data visualisations, empowering customers to track and understand culture, performance, and engagement trends. (Nice to have)
Enhanced CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure using Jenkins, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CodeArtifact, Docker, and Terraform, improving deployment speed and reliability. (Nice to have)
Partnered with frontend engineers (React, TypeScript, JavaScript) to deliver seamless, API-driven experiences, ensuring high performance and usability across platforms. (Nice to have)
