As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Treasury & Chief Investment Office (TCIO), Corporate Technology team at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a pivotal role in an Agile feature team. Your duties will include designing, improving, building, and delivering high-quality technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Using your extensive technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities, you will address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications, thereby having a significant impact on the business. Job Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support the Trade Execution Platform, which is critical to trading and other business activities.
- Provide technical guidance and direction, leading, coaching, and mentoring to support the business and its technical teams.
- Create secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations, adhering to best practices and the architectural roadmap
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Python & Java.
- Proactively identify improvements in systems and processes to reduce risk and improve performance.
- Ensure clear communication with colleagues to align on technical solutions and business needs.
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
- Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Contribute to the wider team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 10+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in the Python & Java programming languages and frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with deep expertise in one or more technical disciplines.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot design and functionality issues with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in real-time and handle technical issues with a sense of urgency.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical colleagues to understand and address business needs.
- Solid technology background with experience in object-oriented programming and a commitment to writing clean, efficient, and scalable code.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a global team.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods include advanced understanding of Agile methodologies.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Financial Industry experience and familiarity with investment banking products - e.g. fixed income, derivatives.
- Project execution experience with strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical colleagues to understand and address business needs.
- Exposure to cloud technologies using AWS.
- Familiarity with cloud native software design.
- Familiarity with container orchestration (K8s).
