About the role

The IT Business Partnership team is responsible for delivery of business-driven IT changes ranging from small enhancement to big programs of end-to-end digital transformation.  In all these initiatives the team is working in close collaboration with the business functions as well as multiple other IT teams. 

This Business Analyst position is to facilitate the analysis, design, and implementation of system solutions and integrations, to support internal and external requirements in the most effective and efficient manner. This position requires working closely with the IT teams and Operational business areas to coordinate from the first phase of projects to final implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Conferring with multiple business units involved on delivering of new IT solutions and to gain an understanding of the end to end changes required to applications and integrations;
  • Gather systems and process requirements, analyse to understand, and minimize unnecessary variation.
  • Documenting and challenging business requirements to produce specifications for new or modified systems.
  • Channel business input to solution design and validate against business objectives, provide input to cost benefit analysis and business case definition
  • Liaising with vendors to deliver new capabilities and develop/maintain current standards of performance; analyzing the application scalability and performance requirements to ensure that change is designed and implemented in order to preserve or improve business SLAs.
  • Analysis of Application Interfaces & Integrations; Development of Specified Integrated Unit Testing;
  • Technical analysis of data and flows and impact of system changes to it with a specific focus on Finance and Collections data.
  • Configuring existing systems and design new software solutions following the latest security standards.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams across regions to provide a clear and achievable estimate of timescales involved in delivering the agreed technical design and to monitor progress against estimates.
  • Developing troubleshooting solutions to allow application support teams and infrastructure teams to support products when they are put into production.
  • Researching new products and technologies to improve performance               
  • Ensure solutions are consistent with operational and technology best practice in Europe
  • Coordinate and lead business reviews of process and system solution design, development and test phases, including formal review and approvals if necessary
  • Prepare and execute business implementation plans including training, user testing and change control management
  • Build effective working relationships with business partners and across the project team at all levels to aid effective collaboration and communication

Position Requirements

Skills / Competencies Required
  • Able to lead a team of BAs or work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • High levels of enthusiasm, commitment, and energy required
  • Must be flexible to travel within Europe as and when required (limited duration)
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS SQL and Visio required
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in developing wireframes
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple locations when necessary,
  • Exposure to AGILE delivery methodology
Experience Required
  • Primary or Secondary degree in a related discipline, e.g. Business Information Systems
  • 8 plus years full life cycle experience in a similar position required
  • Prior experience in General Insurance or Financial Services preferable
  • Prior experience working in an International environment an advantage
  • Process and workflow improvement experience is an advantage
  • Accreditation from a recognized Insurance Institute is desirable
