The position reports directly to the Head of People Operations. 

Your Responsibilities: 

Strategic and Operational Payroll Management: 

  • Develop and implement a global payroll strategy that aligns with business needs and enhances the employee experience. 

  • Ensure efficient and error-free payroll processing in all countries where the company operates. 

  • Collaborate with external payroll service providers to optimize and standardize processes. 

Process Optimization and Automation: 

  • Analyze existing payroll processes and identify efficiency opportunities. 

  • Implement and manage a global payroll platform or integrate existing systems. 

  • Standardize payroll processes across different countries to ensure scalability and consistency. 

Compliance and Audit Security: 

  • Ensure compliance with local tax and labor regulations in all relevant countries. 

  • Collaborate with tax advisors and legal teams to mitigate risks. 

  • Prepare and support payroll audits. 

Communication and Stakeholder Management: 

  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and external consultants to align on payroll-related topics. 

  • Act as the main contact for local payroll teams and international payroll service providers. 

  • Advise management on payroll-related topics, especially in the context of expansion into new markets. 

Operational Support in Payment Runs: 

  • Coordinate and control payment runs to ensure accurate and timely salary payments. 

  • Collaborate with Finance and Treasury to secure liquidity planning related to payroll payments. 

Your Profile 

  • Experience in leading, developing, and mentoring payroll teams  

  • 5+ years' experience in payroll with an international focus 

  • Experience in implementing and consolidating global payroll systems and transformation projects.  

  • Knowledge of international tax and labor law regulations. 

  • Ability to communicate professionally with international stakeholders (internal and external). 

  • Experience managing and streamlining third party payroll providers 

  • Experience with common payroll systems and HRS tools. 

  • You have experience working in a multinational environment and supporting employees across multiple locations 

  • Minimum B2 level of German and Fluent English skills; additional languages are an advantage.
