We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant to strengthen our finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls, and high-quality financial insight that supports our expanding global operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation and reporting of monthly management accounts for multiple group entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
- Assume responsibility for balance sheet control reconciliations and trial balances across group companies.
- Management of intercompany reconciliations, including inter-co recharges and transfer pricing calculations.
- Process/manage supplier payments, including reconciliation of a supplier accounts.
- Analysis of project spend, accruals, and WIP, working closely with the project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate cost capture and margin visibility.
- Support the Financial Controller in the preparation, monitoring, and review of budgets and forecasts, with particular focus on project timing and working capital.
- Assist with the external audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements including RCT, VAT, Intrastat, VIES & CSO/National Statistics.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and streamline finance workflows.
- Supervise and support members of the finance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and accountability.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within a project-based manufacturing, engineering, construction, or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, cost control, accruals, and WIP.
- Advanced Excel skills essential; experience with SAP By Design or similar ERP systems desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Collaborative with a flexible approach to work and a positive outlook
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience supervising and directing finance teams.
