Join Okta’s Enterprise Security team as a Senior Engineer responsible for safeguarding Okta’s corporate environment. You’ll work closely with the Security, Business Technology Engineering and Product teams to implement and manage endpoint security solutions and ensure that core infrastructure applications are protecting our workforce, endpoints, and corporate data. You’ll use your skills in IT, security, and development to build, secure, test, and operationalize solutions that achieve security and business objectives. 


Preferred experience with enterprise security tools such as Okta, EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker), DLP (Data Loss Prevention), MDM (Mobile Device Management), SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), and SSPM (SaaS Secure Posture Management). The ideal candidate should have a proven track record automating solutions utilizing a cloud first approach and be comfortable communicating with support staff, technical leadership, and management.


The most important quality is an innate desire to make tools and people work together solving complex problems with expertise, creativity, and a security first mindset.


What you’ll be doing

  • Own relationships within internal teams as a security SME for solution engineering, security assessment, and vulnerability mitigation
  • Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to evaluate new systems and feature enhancements before they are developed and deployed
  • Build and update custom automation and cloud infrastructure to support the team’s workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle global technology challenges.
  • Stay updated on emerging security solutions and tools
  • Prioritize working on multiple simultaneous projects with overlapping deadlines

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience securing web applications and infrastructure
  • Experience working with enterprise security solutions
  • Experience working in AWS or other cloud environments
  • Experience with a modern scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Experience providing security guidance and mitigations to teams
  • Experience hardening and troubleshooting Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
  • Experience evaluating 3rd party software solutions
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

  • Experience leading projects
  • Experience with managing and securing SaaS applications
  • Experience working with identity management technologies (MFA, SAML, WebAuthn)
  • Experience working with Okta
