ABOUT THE POSITION
Black Shamrock is looking for a Senior Dev QA to work on a variety of projects. This is a full-time position on a short, fixed-term contract in our Dublin office which involves working in an international environment.
As part of the dev QA team, you will be responsible for assessing the quality of games, reporting and categorizing bugs encountered, and conveying the details to the different teams involved in the project.

Collaborate with developers to understand the game’s design, identify the best test approach and build test plans accordingly.

Supporting the creation of documentation for projects, in relation to QA.

Check the functionality of game features during the various stages of development.

Seek and analyse bugs systematically and report them to a high standard.

Perform regression passes, confirm bug fixes and help maintain the bug database.

Test the gameplay and provide feedback, for instance on balancing.

Supporting the QA Lead, to ensure that best practices are being maintained across all projects.

Collaborate with local QA team, client teams and wider QA teams within Virtuos Group.

Help ensure all aspects of the game are to the best quality, from functionality to performance.

4+ years of experience in quality assurance within the games industry.

Hands-on experience of game development methods and tools.

Experience testing or playing games on different platforms (PC and console).

Experience using bug tracking and project management tools such as JIRA.

Ability to collaborate with wider QA team, locally and across other studios.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and able to show initiative on your assigned projects.

Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability describe complex technical issues.

Capacity to organize, prioritize, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
-
An educational background in Game Design, Level Design or Programming.

Prior experience in dev QA and/or experience working as a QA in co-development.

Experience using development tools such as Unreal Engine, Visual Studios and/or build generation tools.

Knowledge of first-party requirements and certification process.

Experience with test automation and scripting.
