About the Role
As Senior Designer, you will lead and guide the design of timely seasonal assortments that align with the brand’s position and target customers. You will also oversee the development process for large or multiple brands within a division.
What You’ll Do
Lead concept development of the brand and provide direction to the team in building and evolving the brand
Oversee tech packs, trim sheets and design packages and ensure accurate data entry into Product Lifecycle Management
Present designs and actionable recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners
Influence cross-functional partners in product direction
Partner with Trend and Design Team to prioritize trends for areas of responsibility and share creative ideas
Research and remain current with trends, innovations and industry developments through travel, events and networking
Foster an environment of idea-sharing and collaboration, determining adoption strategies
Manage direct reports, systems and projects to achieve business goals per Kohl's policies and practices
Prepare and analyze unit plans and reports
Provide influential leadership to impact operational results, creating an effective work environment
Develop a shared vision, set clear objectives, encourage teamwork, recognize outstanding performance and maintain transparent communication
Develop staff through coaching, performance feedback, assessments and development plans
Additional tasks may be assigned
What Skills You Have
Required
Effective multitasking abilities with a focus on managing multiple priorities
Strategic, creative and innovative thinker
In-depth knowledge of product and accessory business, including competitive landscape awareness
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and CAD or similar programs
International and domestic travel
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or related field
8-10 years of design experience
Previous retail experience
