The Senior Data Engineer provides direct support to the Data Team and the company at large. We are faced with integrating data in real-time from multiple sources via a variety of tools. This necessitates pushing the envelope using existing technologies while also blazing the trail applying novel approaches and technologies.
We are looking for a person with a passion to learn, adapt and help open new doors in data transformation and Business Intelligence. Job Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain data pipeline architecture to optimize the collection and flow of data for various workgroups.
· Identify, design and implement internal process improvements (automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.)
· Become familiar with existing big data, development, and database systems at Beyond.
· Analyze user requirements and based on findings, design and develop graphs, charts, dashboards, and other Business Intelligence software solutions.
· Consult and provide support for customers about BI apps design and maintenance.
· Develop and maintain logical data models, including star schema, snowflake schema, Third Normal Form (3NF), dimensional data models, and other foundational data warehouse principles. Ensure proper data governance policies are followed by implementing or validating Data Lineage, Quality checks, classification, etc.
· Professional drive towards continuous learning, skill development and technical leadership.
· Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.
· Follow legal policies as directed.
Job Requirements
· Five plus years of working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases.
· Strong experience with UNIX, Linux, Shell scripting, Python, JavaScript, and JSON
· Knowledge of GCP (Google Cloud Platform) technologies, including Cloud Functions, Big Query, Pub/Sub
· Advanced data transformation experience using multiple tools and techniques (Lambda, SQL, DBT, Python etc.)
· Familiarity with integration platforms like MuleSoft is good to have.
· Proficiency in BI platforms, specifically MicroStrategy and power BI is preferred.
· Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Control M and Composer.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
· Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and effectively convey complex technical concepts.
· Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and learn new tools and techniques as needed to support business objectives.
