About the Role:
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a key role in enabling next-generation analytics and AI-driven solutions across Optum Health. You will help design and operationalize data products that power advanced analytics, machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI use cases. Working with modern cloud technologies including Snowflake and Snowflake Cortex, you will transform complex healthcare and operational data into trusted, scalable assets that support intelligent decision-making, automation, and digital innovation.
In this role, you'll design and implement robust data solutions, contribute to data planning, and collaborate cross-functionally with business and analytics teams. Your work will directly support Optum's mission to lower healthcare costs and help people live healthier lives.

What you will do:
  • Partner with the OH Risk Principal to deliver analytics that support improvement in risk adjustment (RAF), quality performance, and financial outcomes
  • Design data models to efficiently connect data across data domains to support customer targeting analytics
  • Support the development and operationalization of agentic AI solutions, intelligent assistants, and recommendation engines
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business decision-making
  • Ensure data accuracy and relevance: Collaborate with data scientists and other cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and relevance of data used in sales strategies
  • Bridge the gap between raw data and business insights by transforming complex datasets into usable formats for analysis
  • Perform exploratory and advanced analytical techniques to uncover opportunities, patterns, and predictive insights
  • Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to evaluate model outputs and improve business adoption of AI solutions

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Proven experience working with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, with the ability to deliver insights through dashboards, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled solutions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and optimization
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and feature engineering concepts
  • Proven experience working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
  • Proven experience working with data integration tools and platforms
  • Demonstrated solid communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within team-oriented environments

Other useful skills and experience include:
  • Proven experience working within healthcare provider or payer environments
  • Proven experience within the U.S. healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated exposure to large-scale performance management or value-based care programs
  • Demonstrated familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake
  • Proven experience working on projects utilizing Agile and Scrum methodologies
