AECOM is recruiting for Client Engineers to join our growing T&D team based in the Republic of Ireland. The need arises from AECOM securing a place on a new multi-year framework with EirGrid that will be require client engineers at all levels to provide technical services on projects from development to construction.

The T&D department delivers project management, design and owners engineer role for electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltages across Ireland and across the world. The focus of the team is large-scale grid infrastructure, grid connections, and private networks. Are you ready to join a team of talented and innovative engineers? 

Here’s what you’ll do:

The work can be varied and there will an opportunity to gain experience in the role but will consist of the following:

  • Developing primary plant layouts for HV substations
  • Creating equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
  • Providing engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
  • Client engineer/Owners’ Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
  • Providing HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation
  • Providing professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas

    Qualifications

    Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

    Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • A Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Experience of working on HV projects
    • Experience of working with major utilities or developers
    • Experience as a Designer or as a Project Engineer
    • Experience of developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear.
    • Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.
    • Fluency in English
    • Full driving License with access to a car as site visits will be required

    Desirable Skills & Experience: 

    • Experience of working on multi-discipline engineering projects
    • Chartered accreditation or working toward status
    • Consultancy experience
    • Experience in reviewing review detailed designs & witnessing construction site activities.
    • Candidates without specific HV experience that can demonstrate competency for the key skills required for the role will also be considered
