About Medserv:

Medserv, an Irish company, has quickly established itself as the market leader in providing Medical billing and Practice management services throughout Ireland and the UK. Our clients include individual and group consultants, GP practices as well as private clinics and hospitals. Inspired by our values of Always innovating, Being Trustworthy, Collaborating positively and Delivering results, Medserv strives to ensure on-going client satisfaction by combining our innovative technology solutions with highly skilled teams.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering , the Senior Automation and Quality Engineer is an opportunity to define what quality looks like at scale across a fast-growing, technology-led healthcare services business. You will build the capability from the ground up: setting the standard, creating the infrastructure and ensuring the development teams deliver on it. In addition , you will engage with management and stakeholders to develop a data driven quality metrics program that will define what good is, collect the data using AI and provide reporting to the
teams and stakeholders.
The person who thrives in this role will be as comfortable interrogating data and challenging a system design as they are presenting to clients or shaping strategy - someone who leads from the front and remains close to the work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish Medserv's quality framework from first principles - determine what good looks like across our RCM and remote secretarial services and build the infrastructure to measure, track and continuously raise that standard.
  • Set quality strategy across IE, UK and PL and take accountability for implementation as well as driving the teams to meet the required outcomes.
  • Influence how the business makes decisions - from system changes and product development to client onboarding and operational scaling - by embedding quality at the point of design, not as a retrospective check.

Technology & Data:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Medserv's technology stack, data flows and automation pipelines and use that knowledge to identify where quality risk is introduced and how to engineer it out.
  • Work as a peer with Technology leadership on platform decisions, release cycles and system changes; own the quality sign-off on changes that affect service delivery.
  • Build the data infrastructure that gives the business real-time visibility of quality performance — dashboards and trend analysis that drive decisions, not just report on them.
  • Lead initiatives that replace manual quality intervention with intelligent, scalable controls.

Operational Standards & Accountability:

  • Define the quality standards that govern every service line and hold the organisation accountable for meeting them — including at senior level.
  • Build robust mechanisms for error detection, investigation and resolution that address root cause, not just symptoms.
  • Ensure compliance across all three markets (GDPR/UK GDPR, HSE/NHS guidelines, private healthcare rules) and represent Medserv with authority in audits and client quality reviews

Skills & Experience:

  • Significant experience leading a quality or operational excellence function within a technology enabled services business — healthcare, medical billing or RCM background is a strong advantage.
  • Technically fluent: able to engage substantively with engineering and product teams, understand system architecture and data flows, and make informed judgements about where quality risk lives in a technology stack.
  • Demonstrated ability to build functions, not just manage them — has designed frameworks, grown teams and driven measurable improvement in quality outcomes.
  • Commercially sharp: understands the link between quality, client retention and business performance, and makes the case for investment accordingly.
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare data regulations across IE and/or UK; able to lead audit and compliance demands without external hand-holding.
  • A leader who commands respect through expertise and judgement.
