This hybrid position requires two days per week in our Dublin office. About you

About this role 

The Senior Systems Engineer of Atlassian Cloud Platform will be will be part of the Corporate IT Engineering team at Udemy and will be responsible for the management and administration of Udemy’s core IT services application stack with the primary responsibility of managing and maintaining our suite of Atlassian products, including Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence. This role requires deep expertise in configuring, optimizing, and supporting these applications to ensure they meet the needs of our business and drive productivity and collaboration across teams. 

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and Administer: Oversee the administration of Atlassian Cloud applications, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
  • Configuration and Customization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to configure and customize applications to support business processes. Implement workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and other configurations. 
  • User Support and Training: Provide expert-level support and training to end-users. Develop best practices, guidelines, and documentation to enhance user knowledge and application usage.
  • Performance and Optimization: Monitor application performance and work with stakeholders to continuously optimize systems for user efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Integration and Automation: Implement and manage integrations with other tools and systems. Leverage automation to streamline processes and reduce manual workload.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure applications adhere to company security policies and industry standards. Manage access and permissions to maintain compliance and data integrity.

What you’ll have

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience administering Atlassian cloud products, including Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience in a service management environment is desirable.
  • Atlassian certifications such as Atlassian Cloud Organization Admin or Jira Administration for Cloud are preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with administering other corporate IT systems such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack is a plus.

About your Skills

  • Expertise in configuring and customizing Atlassian Cloud applications to meet business requirements.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., using Jira Automation or other 3rd party workflow automation tools, scripting languages) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
