FundRock Management Company (Ireland) Limited (FundRock) is a third party UCITS Fund Management Company & Alternative Investment Fund Manager authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland with assets under management of approx. €100 Billion. The FundRock group has a long history providing services to UCITS and Alternative investment fund since 2005.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will report to the Designated Person for Investment Management, the Senior Associate will be an integral part of the team’s success. 

The role involves regular engagement with senior management and external stakeholders, presenting a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the governance and performance of a dynamic Fund Management Company.

Investment Oversight Team

  • Oversees the implementation of policy, strategy and performance.
  • Ensure the delivery, maintenance and development of appropriately constituted and managed products, subject to ongoing rigour, effective oversight and meeting with the expectations of the fund Boards and regulators.

Role

  • Reviewing fund-related reports provided by Investment Managers, Administrators and Depositaries.
  • Tracking developments in markets to understand the implications for UCITS and AIFMD fund ranges incorporating equity, fixed income, balanced funds, hedge fund and private equity strategies.
  • Analysing the investment performance of client portfolios for the Management Company (both UCITS and AIFMD).
  • Drafting documentation for monthly review by Investment Oversight Committee.
  • Participating in regular calls with world-leading Investment Managers.
  • Preparing investment commentary for Fund Boards.
  • Evaluating new fund proposals and highlighting the key factors to be considered when deciding whether these funds should be approved.
  • Undertaking research across a variety of investment fund topics as requested by Senior Management.

Core Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with other DPs to maintain an effective oversight function, remaining adaptable to reflect the continuously changing regulatory environment.
  • Ensure compliance with UCITS & AIFMD regulations and responsibilities assigned.
  • Reviewing and raising performance issues with the delegate investment manager.
  • Reviewing breaches of investment guidelines.
  • Analysing and reviewing of sub funds.
  • Develop and deliver portfolio management information.
  • Conduct annual reviews and report findings to management.
  • Reviewing and agreeing investment objective and policies.
  • Sign off investment guidelines as agreed.

Experience

  • Relevant qualifications and experience include those related to risk, investment performance and attribution, investment compliance or financial markets, supported by practical experience gained in Portfolio Management /Investment Management / Fund Risk/ Product Management functions.
  • Experienced in policy and performance and attribution analysis of fixed income, equity and multi-asset investment strategies including their practical implementation, instruments, utilisation of derivatives, leverage, hedging, investment and regulatory risk concepts.
  • Demonstrable interest in current markets, fund concepts, regulatory themes application
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and delegates across the organisation.
  • Motivated self-starter who can demonstrate sound judgment, excellent technical, markets and regulatory knowledge, strong team ethic, combined with high energy, enthusiasm, resilience, tenacity and diplomacy.
  • A high appetite for learning and development is essential.
  • Strong prioritisation and time management skills; ability to manage multiple requirements and deliver effective outcomes efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and reporting capabilities – ability to interpret financial data and clearly articulate at all levels, including portfolio managers, fund directors, external auditors, senior management.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and people management whilst in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
