Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant/Analyst to join our global Technical Reporting team based in PartnerRe’s Dublin office. 

The PartnerRe Group’s Technical Reporting team are responsible for the accounting and reporting of the Group’s non-life (re)insurance and retrocession. This includes the Group’s various legal entities including in Ireland, Bermuda, USA, and Singapore.

In this role, you will be an important member of the team focusing on the inward re(insurance) USGAAP quarterly close process for the Group and its legal entities. In addition, you will contribute to finance transformation and automation of the accounting and reporting for inward re(insurance).

Key responsibilities:

  • Accounting for and analysis of estimates for premium income and related commission expenses.
  • Accounting for internal retrocession agreements within the Group
  • Execution of various reconciliations and controls
  • Preparation of reports for internal and external reporting in accordance with various GAAP (US GAAP, French GAAP, local entity GAAP) and regulatory (e.g. Solvency II) basis
  • Liaising with external and internal auditors
  • Ad hoc analysis of Technical/Financial Results
  • Collaboration with teams within the Finance functions (e.g. FP&A, Legal Entity) and other departments such as Reserving, Underwriting and Operations
  • Support the wider group Finance Team on projects or other ad hoc reporting that may arise

Qualifications

Your are an undergraduate in Finance, Accounting or related field and have a basic understanding of financial and technical accounting processes as well as experience in the Insurance or Reinsurance industry. Furthermore, your profile is surrounded by the following skills:

  • Advance knowledge of MS Office, in particular MS excel (knowledge of Power Pivot and Power Query are a plus)
  • Attention to detail with an analytical mindset
  • A motivated, reliable and flexible team player that enjoys solving problems with a positive attitude
  • Good communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external partners across various jurisdictions
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of Business Objects and DXC SICS is a plus
  • Experience with advanced data management (e.g. Alteryx) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) is a plus
  • Qualified Accountant is a plus, although not essential
