Job Description: Regulatory Reporting Actuarial Analyst
How does this role contribute to our collective success?
 

This position involves supporting actuarial regulatory activities performed across the insurance and reinsurance entities (Irish, Bermudian, Canadian, US) in the AXIS Group. This role supports the team’s broader goal of protecting the strong relationships with the various regulators globally and ensuring AXIS can collectively meet its growth initiatives in a capital efficient manner.
A key part of the role will be delivering data-driven insights and developing comprehensive reports and presentations ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing decision-making processes.
This is a role within a large organisation providing the right candidate the opportunity to develop and grow.
What will you do in this role?

  • Assist with the quarterly calculation of reserves and Technical Provisions across various valuation basis (eg. GAAP, Solvency II, IFRS 17) for the regulated companies of AXIS Capital.

  • Support the calculation of the quarterly Solvency II Solvency Capital Requirement (‘SCR’) for the Irish regulated companies of AXIS Capital.

  • Support the ORSA processes across the AXIS Group – including reserve and capital projections for both the business plan and across various stress and scenario tests.

  • Contribute to preparing AXIS Group Actuarial Function deliverables and fulfilling reporting responsibilities covering Solvency II and GAAP financial reporting disclosures across various jurisdictions.

  • Support the capabilities and operation of the AXIS Group Actuarial Function including identifying where enhancements and efficiencies can be deployed particularly around data, calculation and reporting processes.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.
About You:

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • General insurance experience with knowledge of the calculation of non-life reserves and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills. Coding skills and experience with SQL Server and ResQ is an advantage but not essential if there is a willingness to learn.

  • A desire to progress with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent Actuarial exams.

  • Ability to develop, recommend and implement new approaches.

  • Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.

Role Factors:
In this role, you will typically be required to be in the office 3 days per week in our office in Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2.
