Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to relaunch your career with JPMorganChase through our ReEntry Program, designed for experienced professionals who have taken a career break of at least two years. The program begins with a 15-week, full-time fellowship (April 20, 2026 - July 31, 2026), providing comprehensive support and resources to help you transition back into the workforce. Upon successful completion, you may be offered a permanent position in a part-time job share arrangement, where two people share the responsibilities of the role-offering the flexibility you need to thrive.
As a Software Engineer III within Workplace Solutions, you will join a collaborative, agile team dedicated to designing, developing, and delivering high-quality technology solutions that support the firm's business objectives. You will have the opportunity to work with global teams, contribute to innovative projects, and grow your career in a supportive environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve problems.
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
  • Keep the team and key stakeholders informed on the progress of development work.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies.

About the Team
The Chief Technology Office oversees enabling components inclusive of the top quality engineering and architecture tools and practices, key program management and processes as well as the technology workforce strategy required to make us a leading technology company for our customers, clients and colleagues around the world.
High Risk Roles (HRR) are sensitive roles within the technology organization that require high assurance of the integrity of staff by virtue of 1) sensitive cybersecurity and technology functions they perform within systems or 2) information they receive regarding sensitive cybersecurity or technology matters. Users in these roles are subject to enhanced pre-hire screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks (as allowed by law). The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.
