About your role: 
 

We are seeking a Quantitative Trading Software Developer who’ll take responsibility for assisting in the build, design, operation, and continuous improvement of all software that support our trading strategies. The role will require involvement across various elements of the software development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and design through to implementation, testing and deployment.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Progress and maintain existing software systems and applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust software solutions to support trading strategies and business operations.
  • Integrate software components and third-party programs, ensuring quality, consistency, and availability for analysis and trading.
  • Manage and optimize application performance to ensure efficient operation and user experience.
  • Work closely with Quantitative Analysts, Data Scientists, Developers, Traders, and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Assist in the development of trading strategies through building of predictive statistical and econometric models.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of software systems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems, applications, and processes.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to improve and develop existing software architecture and facilitate robust and scalable solutions.
  • Understand specific technology and trading requirements for Front Office and facilitate the design, development and delivery of software solutions, applications, tools and dashboards through independent work and collaboration with other teams.
  • Work with other teams to assist in the development and enabling of software-driven solutions, contributing to the overall technology roadmap for the business.

Here's what we’re looking for: 

  • Experience with cloud platforms that support scalable software development and deployment, such as DataBricks and Microsoft Azure.
  • Undergraduate degree in a discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Physics. A postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Experience in developing software development solutions in Energy, Trading or Finance would be an advantage.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks.
  • Demonstrate a passion for research, statistics, and data analysis using software development as well as a demonstrated ability and passion for designing and implementing development solutions within the business.
  • Interested in energy markets in particular I-SEM and a genuine enthusiasm for quantitative trading.
  • Software Development experience in a previous role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across the various elements of software development journey from data engineering through to data science and trade execution.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Data Bricks.
  • Experience in the use of cloud infrastructure such as Azure or similar.
