Job Description

Overview

The QA Team Lead is responsible for the management of the day to day test activities to deliver Quality Assurance of software implementations for new and existing projects. The test team will consist of manual testers and they will actively participate in the testing and quality assurance of the Percana product, Percana interfaces, integration and business process testing with surround systems.

The purpose of this role is to lead and mentor a team of test analysts throughout the software testing life cycle (STLC); creating test schedules, allocating tasks, supervising daily and tracking progress. The QA Team Lead will be expected to provide reports and escalate risks and issues to the onshore test manager.   

This will be a hands-on role and at times may also require performing some of the QA Test Analyst tasks.

Lead / Personal Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience leading QA teams
  • Proven experience working in a lead role in an offshore model
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

Responsibilities and Required Technical Skills

  • Understanding and experience of working in SDLC model
  • Strong reporting skills; weekly & daily reporting, ALM reporting, progress and issue identification reports
  • Proven experience coaching and motivating a team
  • Highly experienced in test analysis and design
  • ALM Experience: Focus on reporting and tracking and use of Dashboard options
  • SQL server query scripting skills
  • Strong MS Office skills; in particular Excel and Word
  • Experience with UK Financial Services would be very preferable

Desirable Skills

  • Life Assurance and Pension industry experience and/or UK Financial Services experience
  • Previous Experience working on transformation projects\projects migrating data from legacy systems
  • Experience working across different phases of testing including System Test, Integration Test, UAT
  • Experience of testing APIs
  • Experience of testing using SOAP UI
  • Experience in / Exposure to Test Automation
