We are recruiting an Associate for our Public Procurement team. This team is internationally recognised and widely regarded as market-leading in its field in Ireland. We are centrally involved in advising public bodies and utilities on the procurement of large projects, including tech and infrastructure projects. We also advise clients on the initiation or defence of procurement proceedings in the Irish courts, working closely with our dispute resolution team. The successful candidate will work with a renowned team of legal experts with access to an enviable client base, as part of one of the largest commercial teams in Ireland, meaning we can offer a depth of resources and breadth of expertise that helps secure the best outcomes for our clients.

The Role

This role involves working on all aspects of public procurement – including drafting procurement documents, advising on procurement issues arising before, during and after procurement processes, procurement litigation, and compliance. Knowledge of contract law, construction law, State aid law and/or procurement disputes would be an advantage. This role will suit somebody with a passion for developing a thorough understanding of complex regulatory frameworks and economic concepts across all industries. There is also an opportunity to develop or deepen experience in State aid law and/or contract law.

Requirements

  • 1+ PQE in public procurement law.

  • Proven ability to work independently and in teams and to collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the firm.

  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.

  • Ability to prioritise and manage work effectively.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.

  • Track record of high performance academically and in practice.

  • Experience in the areas of contract law, construction law, State aid law and / or dispute resolution is highly desirable but not essential.
