Proposition Actuary

Location: Dublin - you must be a resident of the Republic of Ireland to apply and have the right to work in ROI already in place.

Prudential International Assurance part of the M&G group is looking for an actuary to work in a dynamic and fast paced proposition team.

The proposition team main responsibilities are to

  • develop propositions ensuring that they meet the needs of the customer, provide value for money, whilst achieving the commercial ambitions of Prudential International.
  • Ensure current propositions (open and closed) continue to meet the needs of our customer and provide value or money and
  • to ensure all product related regulatory change is executed in accordance with the regulations and within regulatory timelines.

The Proposition Actuary will work under the Head of Proposition and Product pricing and take ownership of particular developments and provide leadership and guidance through the innovation, development and execution stage of the development. They will work closely with colleagues across the wider business to provide solutions allowing developments to reach market in a timely fashion. The Proposition Actuary will also play a key role in ensuring that we exercise appropriate product oversight and support the wider Operational teams.

As a Proposition Actuary, you will ideally have:

  • Ideal candidates will be a nearly/newly qualified actuary, with commercial/product development/management exposure or an individual who is qualified by experience with a background in a Life Company.
  • Broad knowledge of life products, including Investment Bonds, markets and competitors.
  • Practical working knowledge of the regulatory and legislative requirements relevant for financial product design and management, ideally for both European and UK markets.
  • Cross Border experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Experience of taking initiatives through internal governance including working closely with Risk and Compliance functions.
  • A demonstrable ability to provide solutions in order to develop and implement strategic initiatives, product/customer related regulations and/or product launches.
  • Experience of influencing a broad range of stakeholders from different functions.
  • Passion for the customer.
  • Effective written and presentation skills.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team player.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to actively manage your time, multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
