The Role
This role will be responsible for supporting and delivering project management practices, management of a programme of projects and ensuring good quality management and delivery of internal changes in Origina. This is an opportunity to really put your mark on a small but growing international company that is moving through a phase where more formal project management practice is important but where agility is still key.
Understanding the culture and practices of a smaller organisation will be vital. Management of project processes and tooling and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organisation with appropriate methods and language will be critical. Co-ordination and liaising with key stakeholders across business project teams, will also be a critical part of the role. The role will involve project management through all phases from initiation to testing and delivery and will bring exposure to a wide range of IT systems and business processes. Managing partners and providers will also be important.
This role is crucial for ensuring that our company’s changes ate implemented effectively and sustainably, aligning with our strategic goals and providing maximum value.
In this role you will need to balance process and agility in a way that allows both control and pace of change.
What You'll Do
- Schedule and governance of projects with selection and/or application of appropriate methodologies, processes, and tools; refining and enhancing the project schedule, resources, estimates, costs and execution against an agreed milestones and cost baseline.
- Ensure that effective internal delivery governance and standard reporting processes are adhered to.
- Understand and review requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects.
- Assign and maintain an oversight of the daily tasks while ensuring all team members are actively working toward established milestones.
- Facilitate communication and negotiation within the team.
- Maintain the project schedule and report project status.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Drive and manage risk assessment and risk management.
- Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives.
About you
- 3+ years’ experience in a Project Management role
- Professional, accredited project management certification preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes and strategies, supported by a strong track record of delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required particularly the ability to gain alignment and cooperation with colleagues to execute a desired plan.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.
- Calm and level-headed with the ability to predict challenges and proactively resolve obstacles before they arise.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently. Will be expected to lead projects and work on own initiative.
- Strong communication, organisational and project implementation skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Understanding of challenges and opportunities presented by working with a smaller business vs working in a large corporate environment.
