Who we are About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The infrastructure teams provide efficient and optimized infrastructure for Stripe to build secure, reliable and differentiated products, while enabling Stripe developers to achieve their highest potential. Stripe makes it easy for any developer to access and manage the capabilities of the financial system while maintaining the least regulatory friction. We work to enable developers to have the most productive results of their entire career from the very first days they join Stripe through years of developing new systems and products.

What you’ll do

As a Program Manager in the Infrastructure team, you will play a key role in helping onboard engineers to Stripe. We run in-person onboarding sessions for new hires worldwide and it is critical that we have the right facilitators for the classes, the high quality curriculum presented, and a robust process to collect and manage feedback to ensure the onboarding program sets new hires up for success. You will be responsible for working with Engineers at Stripe to build and maintain these classes, support and grow a robust pool of facilitators for the classes, and evolve the training we provide for Stripe’s engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Define and produce high quality written proposals, communications and documentation.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers, Technical Program Managers, and members of the New Hire Programs team to enable robust onboarding classes every 2 weeks year round.
  • Develop, implement, and iterate on program management techniques, frameworks, and KPIs to achieve goals with well defined success criteria.
  • Help influence peers / stakeholders and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity.
  • Coordinate in-person classes every 2 weeks in our Dublin office.
  • Support Stripes who are coordinating classes in 2 other locations (San Francisco and Bangalore).
  • Support and grow a pool of facilitators for classes by adding new Stripes over time, providing basic training and feedback to the facilitators, and being the go-to contact for Engineering facilitators worldwide.
  • Develop a program to continuously evaluate and refresh engineering training curriculum as Stripe’s engineering processes evolve over time.
  • Ensure there is a consistent feedback loop to identify gaps in the experience and enable facilitators and content owners to keep the curriculum fresh.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 2+ years of software engineering, systems engineering and/or program management experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills; you digest complex information, can distill it and make recommendations and proposals.
  • You have a track record of providing program management during all phases of software development from kick-off to launch, demonstrating critical thinking, challenging the norms and thought leadership.
  • You have very strong written and verbal communication skills, building strong relationships with stakeholders, teams and senior leaders around the organization.
  • You can drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions and bring a wealth of experience, opinions, proposals and best practices.
  • Experience operating autonomously and rapidly and leading large-scale efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines across time zones.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience designing and/or delivering training programs for new hires
  • Experience building / maintaining engineering training curriculum
