Job Description:This is a fixed-term contract (6–9 months), but we're also open to working with full-time contractors for that period.
Our Product Owners need to understand the business issues and challenges of eCommerce, from online marketing to logistics. Working with internal team members and external customers, gather and assess product requirements, help prioritise them, and, as a Product Owner in the agile process, communicate them to the development teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with teams and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct research and understand business needs.
- Guide multiple scrum teams in breaking down large features, creating well-written user stories, including detailed acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Business Analysts to establish feature goals and work with technical teams to ensure these goals are incrementally delivered, managing constraints and dependencies along the way.
- Prioritise stories, making data-driven decisions and ensuring alignment with the wider Product Roadmaps.
- Independently lead the team's workload and timelines, seeking input on only the most complex tasks.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts for both the Business and Engineering teams.
- Coordinate and manage team meetings such as Daily Stand Ups, Planning, Refinement, and Retrospective sessions.
- Participate and support the demonstration of new features to customers and team members.
- Lead unplanned work without impacting committed, high-priority deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and guidance, acting as a resource for less expert colleagues.
- Frequently seek out user feedback to stay aware of customer needs and preferences.
- Interpret and produce data insights related to product performance and user engagement.
- Stay aware of competitors in the market and understand how our product compares
- Continuously learn and grow knowledge about industry trends, product best practices, and technology trends like AI and how to use it to optimise the day-to-day activities for a PO.
- Implement the go-to-market strategy and report on progress and findings.
- Consistent track record of working in the product delivery space in an agile/scrum environment, ideally 3-5 years in a Product Owner/ Manager role. Previous experience working with highly technical teams is a requirement.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a Computer Science, Engineering or Analytical field.
- An appreciation of how product design works with and integrates into software development.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and organisation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a high level of initiative and desire to get things done.
- Passionate about product development and willing to introduce change and challenge existing processes and procedures.
- Experience in business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, software design, or related SDLC roles.
- Think Platform Security, System Integrations, Package development, DevOps & Site Reliability Engineering when applying.
- Solid understanding of AI and, in particular, how to use it in all aspects of product development
- Experience in or knowledge of retail eCommerce, order management or logistics products is highly desirable.
- Scrum Certified Product Owner would be beneficial.
