We’re looking for an exceptional Product Operations Manager to join our team at Smartly in Helsinki, acting as a senior leader and force multiplier across our Product Management function. This role is not a coordinator or analyst—it’s a PM of PMs, designed for someone who has scaled product teams, defined operating models, and driven outcomes at the intersection of product strategy and execution.
You will work directly with Product, Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, and Customer Success leadership to establish and optimise how we operate as a global product organisation.
As a Product Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:- Product Leadership Operating Model: Design, implement, and continuously evolve the product operating model to scale team performance, drive focus, and eliminate friction.
- Mentor & Coach PMs: Act as a sparring partner and advisor to senior PMs and Group PMs on process excellence, prioritization frameworks, and decision-making practices.
- Portfolio & Initiative Governance: Lead initiative intake, prioritization, and tracking mechanisms across the full product portfolio to ensure alignment with business and customer value.
- Product Strategy Execution: Be the executional engine behind the product strategy. Operationalize product OKRs and ensure systematic follow-through across teams.
- Scaled Team Experience: Bring your hands-on knowledge of what works (and what doesn’t) at scale, gained from working as a senior PM or product leader in high-growth or enterprise environments.
- Data-Driven Insights: Build and maintain live dashboards and analytics frameworks to measure product health, team performance, and customer value realization.
- Voice of the Customer (at Scale): Design scalable feedback loops to aggregate customer and market feedback into actionable product decisions.
- Process and Tool Ownership: Own the end-to-end tooling landscape for the Product org (Jira, Confluence, Productboard, etc.) and drive tool governance and adoption.
- Product Council Chair: Lead our Product Council and ensure systematic decision-making, transparency, and alignment on product priorities at the leadership level.
- Product Operations Change Management: Run our bi-weekly Product Operations forums where process updates are reviewed and approved by Product Leadership.
- Proven experience as a senior PM or Head of Product / Product Lead in a scaled product organisation (>100 people in Product & Engineering).
- Deep understanding of how high-performing product organizations operate at scale (process, governance, metrics, tools).
- Outstanding track record of influencing and guiding senior stakeholders and product leaders.
- Strong knowledge of product development methodologies and agile ways of working.
- An analytical and structured mindset with the ability to drive clarity from ambiguity.
- Experience driving complex, cross-functional initiatives across distributed teams.
- Expert-level experience with product tooling (Jira, Confluence, Productboard, Looker, etc.).
- Relentless focus on continuous improvement and outcome delivery.
- Ability and willingness to work from our Helsinki office at least three days per week.
