About the team

The Startup Marketing team’s mission is to create and deliver content and experiences tailored to the startup audience that support founders in pitching, launching, and running a successful startup. Nested within the Product Marketing function at Stripe, we generate customer insights that inform Stripe’s product strategy, and lead go-to-market for our suite of products. Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Stripe, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, Demand Generation and Campaigns to name a few. Different from many other Product Marketing teams, our team works across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product, to driving launch and commercialization, to growing product adoption post-launch. 

We are looking for an experienced product marketer to shape the roadmap, drive launches, and grow adoption of Stripe and develop our go-to-market strategy for a key user segment: Startups. In this role, you will develop messaging and positioning, craft the narrative for how our products deliver value to customers, and engage teams across sales, campaigns, demand generation, and product to drive overall awareness, pipeline, and revenue across Stripe’s existing customer base and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop messaging and positioning for Stripe products for Startup users .
  • Develop campaign-level content as well as sales enablement assets
  • Work closely with product, partnerships, and partner marketing (demand generation) teams to build a marketing strategy, with the goal of driving awareness, demand, and usage of our products
  • Enable sales teams to understand the value of our products and competitive solutions
  • Partner with field marketing leadership to build a strategy and plan round the world to deliver local community events for founders and define opportunities to engage founders with tailored experiences at Stripe-led and third-party events.
  • Manage all internal and external community documentation.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 7+ years prior product marketing experience, with a strong preference for candidates with experience working in B2B settings
  • Experience building impactful campaigns targeting startups or startup founders 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience translating technical features into benefits for a technical audience
  • Be able to leverage data to proactively identify opportunities and drive impactful results

Preferred qualifications

  • A users-first mindset, with a focus on creating incredible customer/stakeholder experiences 
  • Demonstrated comfort working with senior executives across a variety of disciplines
  • Builder mentality with a bias to action and the ability to flex in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in the startup ecosystem as a product manager or product marketer
  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability, with a track record of “test & learn” mindset
  • Strong collaboration skills, a tendency to seek and value alternate views, and an ability to earn stakeholder confidence quickly and exert influence
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to craft actionable insights from complex data
