As a Product Manager with a focus on BSS/OSS, you will be the driving force behind our product's success. This role blends classic product management responsibilities with customer-facing presales activities such as RFPs, demos, and workshops to anticipate the evolving needs of the telecom market. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires a balance of strategic thinking, technical understanding, and customer-facing engagement. You will be a key player in shaping our future by balancing proactive product investment with the demands of critical customer projects and pre-sales activities.
You will- Product Strategy and Roadmap Management
- Define, own, and execute the product roadmap for our BSS/OSS platform.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback analysis to inform product decisions and identify new opportunities.
- Prepare and present strategic documents and business cases, including research into emerging technologies like AI and its application in the telecom sector.
- Customer and Pre-Sales Engagement
- Serve as the primary product expert in customer engagements, from initial meetings to workshops and post-sales support.
- Lead and manage Product PoCs (Proof of Concepts) and demonstrations for potential customers, showcasing the value and capabilities of our solutions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to prepare comprehensive RFP (Request for Proposal) responses, defining the product's role and value proposition.
- Conduct workshops with customers to define Statements of Work (SOW) for new projects.
- Product Development and Delivery
- Translate customer needs and market requirements into detailed product specifications and user stories for the engineering team.
- Act as the voice of the customer within the development process, ensuring alignment with the product vision.
- Balance product-driven initiatives with project-specific demands, effectively managing resource allocation and prioritisation.
- Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure product reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Cross-Functional Leadership and Communication
- Serve as the central point of contact, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing between customers, sales, engineering, and management.
- Present product updates, insights, and strategy to internal teams and company leadership.
- Represent the company at key industry conferences (e.g., FTTH Council, INCA, TM Forum), staying up-to-date on industry standards and trends.
- Have proven experience as a Product Manager in the telecommunications industry, with a strong focus on BSS/OSS.
- Have in-depth knowledge of core telecom BSS/OSS concepts, including Product Catalogues, Order Management, Billing, and Service Fulfillment.
- Demonstrate experience in managing a product roadmap and delivering successful product releases.
- Deeply understand Carrier Ethernet and FTTP, as you'll be building products that directly serve these markets.
- Are an exceptional communicator and with proven presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Display strong customer orientation and a track record of successful customer engagement and relationship management.
- Have experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Thrive in a dynamic setting with a high degree of context switching between strategic, pre-sales, and project tasks.
- Show a proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and address challenges head-on.
- Experiment with emerging technologies such as AI ( experience of its application in the telecom space is a plus).
- Direct influence on product strategy at company leadership level.
- Visibility in the industry through conferences and thought leadership.
