Build hands-on technical learning content (labs, tutorials, workshops, demos, reference implementations) using Cursor to enable developer adoption; lead workshops; partner with Product, Engineering, DevRel, and Field teams; measure adoption and improve educational formats.
The summary above was generated by AI

Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.

About the role

Cursor ships fast. New models, new agentic capabilities, new workflows every week. The gap between what Cursor can do and what developers know how to build with it grows with every release. This role closes that gap, one lab, workshop, and tutorial at a time.

As a Product Education Engineer, you'll build the technical content and hands-on experiences that move developers from first install to deep, durable fluency. Code walkthroughs, labs, reference implementations, workshops, in-product learning, and whatever new formats we invent as we go. The demos and tutorials you ship should be things you built by pushing Cursor to its limits in your own work.

This is not a traditional customer education role. We're hiring engineers who teach, not curriculum developers who need external SMEs to write for them. You'll be the SME. You'll go deep on the product, deep with customers, and deep with the engineers building Cursor. You'll be the internal source of truth our Field Engineers, ADMs, and Solutions Architects come to when the product changes and they need to get up to speed.

You'll report to the Director of Product Education Engineering and partner with our Learning Experience Design team, who will help you translate technical depth into content that actually teaches.

What you’ll do

  • Build Cursor's technical learning library hands-on: code walkthroughs, tutorials, labs, workshops, reference implementations, and instructor-led training

  • Build high-quality demos, reference implementations, and workflow automations, using Cursor itself as part of your development process

  • Lead large-format workshops, technical deep dives, and hands-on enablement sessions that help engineering organizations adopt AI coding tools effectively and drive measurable outcomes

  • Be the technical translation layer between Product and the field. When Cursor ships new capabilities, our Field Engineers, ADMs, and Solutions Architects come to you to get up to speed

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, DevRel, and Go-to-Market ahead of major launches so new capabilities ship with clear educational framing, practical examples, and adoption paths on day one

  • Contribute technical guides, patterns, and best practices to Cursor's public technical content to help the broader developer community accelerate their work with Cursor

  • Design learning experiences for both developers and non-technical users (e.g. eng leaders evaluating rollout, PMs pairing with agents). Enterprise adoption depends on both, and our content has to meet each audience on its own terms

  • Experiment with new formats for education, including in-product learning, hands-on labs, interactive experiences, live teaching, and AI-native tutorials (e.g. guided flows that adapt to repo context and skill level)

  • Bring field signal back to Product and Engineering on where developers get stuck and what would unlock the next stage of adoption

  • Measure what works, tracking adoption and fluency gains rather than completion rates

You may be a fit if

  • You have 5+ years of experience in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Consulting, technical enablement, or software engineering at a developer tools or platform company

  • You have a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, modern engineering org structures, and how AI coding tools are reshaping how software gets built

  • You are an active power user of AI coding tools and have deeply customized your own developer workflow.

  • You have a point of view on what makes engineers more productive

  • You enjoy building scrappy, high-signal demos, integrations, and prototypes that clearly articulate what Cursor can enable, often using Cursor to accelerate your own development process

  • You have delivered large, high-impact workshops or technical training to engineering teams and know how to craft sessions that are engaging, hands-on, and outcomes-driven.

  • You have built the enablement infrastructure behind the workshops, including demo environments, content-freshness automation, and self-service tooling

  • You communicate complex technical concepts in clear, persuasive written and verbal form, especially when helping customers make strategic decisions about where and how to apply AI

  • You are excited by ambiguous, rapidly evolving problem spaces and enjoy iterating toward novel solutions hand-in-hand with customers

  • You care about customer success and operational excellence as much as you care about technical ingenuity

  • You have a builder mindset, high agency, and a bias toward experimenting with new educational formats rather than defaulting to traditional documentation
