Procurement Country Manager – Canada
Location: Thornhill, Ontario CA
You are part of:
Indirect Procurement is part of Galderma Procurement managing the indirect spend as a total via matrixed organization (a Category cluster on the vertical axe and a Market Procurement set up on the horizontal axe, covering all Galderma Markets globally). Primary indirect procurement categories of focus for this role are Marketing & Sales and Freight & Distribution. We are on a Perform and Transform journey creating additional value for Galderma in general and Procurement more specifically. Your mission:
Through category management, you deliver strategic stakeholder & supplier relationship management, build fit-for-purpose solutions enabling cost reduction and growth. You will be part are a highly engaged team always acting with integrity and a can-do attitude.
Your main tasks:
Sourcing Implementation:
- Ensure integration & leverage of market business needs into procurement category strategies
- Expert in local requirements (legislation, culture, supply base), Spend Master
- Execute strategy with local relevance
- Secure industry compliance requirements
- Apply category policies supported by operational guidelines
- Supports GCMs in category strategy creation
- Responsible sourcing compliance
Y-o-Y Funnel Management & Saving Execution:
- Execute a 3-year funnel of strategic opportunities
- Demand & Spend Management: Price*Quantity expertise and gate keeping
- Execute savings according to plan
- Apply bidding guideline per policy
- Ongoing process optimization
Business & Procurement Partnering:
- Management of stakeholders in region/country
- Promote & translate global strategies for local execution
- Advise GCMs on local market updates
- Support business in audits for suppliers on a local level
- Ensure stakeholder strategy buy-in
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Define requirements, lead the process of identifying, qualifying, ranking, selecting appropriate suppliers
- Regional/country account executive for strategic accounts
- Apply SRM requirements to manage & reduce supplier base
- Foster and bring supplier innovation
- Negotiations with key suppliers & leveraging global volume
- Jointly with stakeholders, lead business review process with strategic suppliers & review KPI (BRM)
- Gatekeepers of compliance
Buying Experience & S2P:
- Buying channel & S2P expertise
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement
- Category Management experience
- 7 to 10 years’ experience, in a Pharma, Industrial or FMCG company where the Procurement function is mature, performing and seen as strategic
- Indirect procurement experience in the categories of Marketing & Sales and Freight & Distribution.
- Pharma/regulated environment experience is a plus
- Lean, 6 Sigma is a plus
- Proficiency in English (written and oral)/ A second language is an asset
- Highly proficient with MS Office Suite, including Excel
- Coupa experience is a plus
- Excellent negotiation skills, independent, motivated, and self-driven
- Excellent strategic thinking skills combined with strong critical thinking skills
- Able to adapt quickly to a constantly changing environment
- Outstanding track record of improving operational processes
- Experience working with leadership teams and senior management
- Strong experience in working in complex matrix organizations
- Compelling and persuasive communicator (oral and written) with excellent interpersonal skills and a high acumen to identify/assess business and financial opportunities with ability to motivate teams to produce superior results
- Ability to influence both suppliers and internal/external stakeholders, and to lead impacting, and recognized as such, sourcing projects.
