As a Technology Business Analyst within Global Technology Services at State Street, this individual will collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders in the implementation of technical solutions. This role will be responsible for leading an agile team that maintains and enhances a Java-based software application supporting Private Markets services.

What you will be responsible for
As Private Markets IT Business Analyst, Assistant Vice President you will
Core Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies for the development team, ensuring effective collaboration between business stakeholders and technical teams

Maintain customer relationships and gather business/system requirements through facilitated meetings with end users

Analyze current processes to identify gaps and improvement opportunities within the Private Markets software platform
-
Decompose complex business concepts into clear functional requirements that can be understood by stakeholders (end users, developers, testers)

Develop conceptual modeling and process workflows to illustrate current and future states
-
Create and maintain detailed business and functional requirement documents
-
Facilitate the business prioritization of feature requests and break these into small, manageable deliverables

Provide clear documentation that can be distilled into automated tests for new and existing functionality

Review test cases and coordinate testing efforts, including user acceptance testing

Work closely with business, QA, and developers to ensure practical solutions are delivered on schedule

Lead end-to-end SDLC activities, participating in technical design and architecture reviews
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Requirements
-
5-7 years experience in business analysis or related role, preferably in financial services
-
Previous experience with SCRUM-like planning cycle and story writing
-
Strong understanding of agile development methodologies

Experience with database management systems and SQL querying

Demonstrated aptitude for solving complex business problems

Ability to work both independently and as a core team member with QA, developers, and business leads

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Visio for documentation and modeling
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in private markets, alternative investments, or fund administration

Knowledge of Java-based applications and development lifecycle

Experience with UI/UX design principles

Project management experience or certification

Advanced MS Office skills

Banking/Finance industry domain knowledge

Experience with Jira Agile Project Management Software

Business Analysis/Project Management certifications
Technical Skills

Hands-on experience with Visio for process modeling

Understanding of SQL and data analytical functions

Experience with requirements management tools

Familiarity with UI development technologies is a plus
