Position Description:
This Management position is within the Alternatives unit of SEI and will be responsible for the management and running of an Investor Services team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investor Services, this individual will be responsible for interacting with all levels of professionals both internally and externally. Candidates must have a high level of understanding of Private Market structures and the associated transfer agency process of such structures.
What you’ll do:
Manage and grow the Investor Services team within SEI.
Ensure a smooth investor account opening process.
Ensure investor requests for information are dealt with efficiently
Ensure the quality of work is maintained at a high standard and that all investor correspondence is sent timely and accurately.
Ensure all payments made to investors are accurate.
Review Limited Partnership Agreements and OM’s pre-launch of each Fund and have the ability to identify and highlight potential operating issues.
To fully support the senior management team and assist in strategic business decision making.
To assist the senior management team in growing the Alternatives unit including assisting in sales pitches, hiring staff and developing workflows, operating models and best practices.
Develop relationships with all client contacts including investment professionals, investors, lawyers, auditors and banking personnel.
Supervise staff on systems, processing, procedures and job responsibilities;
Train, coach and mentor new employees, develop and motivate staff within their sub-unit;
Provide input and feedback regarding employees’ ongoing performance / development / performance appraisals;
Organize and run team meetings.
Work closely with the Fund Accounting team.
Meet all reporting deliverables;
Enforce adherence to service standards and specified deadlines;
Idea generation and ongoing assessment and improvement of operational service model;
Maintain a good working relationship with external clients, investors as well as with internal relationship managers and other business units within SEI;
Assist in the development and implementation of departmental procedures;
Carry out all duties assigned to your role under the Company’s Safety Statement, to ensure Health, Safety and Wellbeing for all employees for whom you have responsibility;
Work on Projects / Ad-hoc tasks as required.
What you bring to the table:
At least 8 years’ experience in a Transfer Agency role with 3+ years working in an Alternatives role.
Have a strong knowledge of Alternative structures and various Fund domiciles regulatory requirements.
Have a strong understanding of the capital call process, sub-closes, equalization, distributions and waterfall calculations.
Have experience in reviewing Limited Partnership Agreements and OM’s
Have an understanding of AML regulations.
Experience with a Private Market accounting system, preferably Investran, would be advantageous.
Experience in supervisory/management skills and/or coaching / mentoring.
A proven track record in interacting frequently with Clients and investors
Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills, with strong oral & written communication skills
Fluency in English Language (both verbal and written) essential.
Strong organizational, co-ordination and administrative skills.
Individual who takes initiative and ownership of assigned responsibilities
Positive ‘can do’ attitude with excellent problem solving skills;
Detail-oriented.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and manage time to maximize efficiency and to meet strict deadlines.
Third Level Degree in Finance or related field.
