Logitech is hiring a Privacy Counsel to strengthen our world class, strategic privacy function. This role reports directly to the Lead Privacy Counsel. You will be part of the Privacy & AI Governance team, which sits within the Legal team. You will draft and negotiate privacy and AI contracts, develop privacy notices, policies and provide expert advice within the Legal team and to business partners throughout the company. This is a truly global role where you will support all of Logitech’s functional teams and business groups such as Hardware, Software, Logitech for Business, Design, Digital Office and People & Culture.
Your Contribution:
Advise on data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses and AI terms
Respond to privacy specific questions in RFPs and RFIs
Draft and maintain appropriate procedures and playbooks for use of templates
Provide advice and conduct assessments on international data transfers
Draft and review notice and consent forms
Draft privacy and data protection related policies and review them against leading industry standards
Provide specialized and pragmatic advice on the implementation and impact of global privacy and data protection laws to product, business groups and to colleagues in the Legal team
Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to identify legal requirements and best practices, and translate them into clear, actionable steps
Distill highly technical rules and disparate data processes into understandable terms – using plain English both for internal clients and our externally-facing documentation, such as for our Privacy Policies and Notices
Partner with our Privacy Operations and AI Governance colleagues to provide appropriate advice and work on projects to strengthen our Privacy & AI Governance compliance program
Collaborate with Legal and business groups spread across time zones – in multiple locations such as in the US, Europe and Asia
Contribute to ongoing efforts to provide education, resources and training on privacy and data protection
Keep up to date and research new legal requirements that may be applicable to Logitech’s business
Key Qualifications & experience:
Qualified as a lawyer and admitted to practice in a jurisdiction relevant to Logitech’s business
5+ years of post-qualification experience, with significant relevant privacy/data protection law experience at a law firm or in-house, ideally in a multinational technology company
Deep understanding of global privacy and emerging AI Governance standards and regimes including but not limited to CCPA/CPRA, COPPA, GDPR, LGPD, PIPL and EU AI Act
In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:
Be a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision, but shows excellent judgment about when to look to managers and teammates for guidance, and when and how to communicate with diverse stakeholders
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Proactive to raise a hand and take on work, instead of expecting it to be asked
Ability to multitask effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, lead & manage projects and drive/achieve results, while working autonomously
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Thoroughness and critical thinking in legal research
Willingness to travel occasionally
