Principal Systems Engineer (FIX protocol and trading application support experience needed)
Location: Dublin
The Role
As a Principal Systems Engineer within the Systems Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to expand your expertise while collaborating with engineers across Fidelity in a dynamic and engaging environment. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering teams to support production deployments and with business teams to coordinate incident response activities. You will also work alongside enterprise infrastructure teams to maintain and support both on‑premises non‑production and production environments. As a senior team member, you will provide mentorship and help develop the technical capabilities of fellow engineers.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Front‑office trading application support experience is mandatory requirement
Practical working experience with the FIX protocol is a mandatory requirement
Practical working experience with AWS cloud platform is preferred
Practical experience in ITIL frameworks and processes is preferred
We are looking for 8+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
Experience deploying applications on-prem and on-cloud infrastructure
Plan and coordinate upgrades and patches for on-prem infrastructure
Seek out opportunities to develop and improve existing automation processes
Expertise in developing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, is a plus
Understanding of networking infrastructure and protocols, is a plus
Experience with logging and monitoring systems such as Datadog, Splunk
Experience with ServiceNow, is a plus
· Scripting experience in Python and shell, is plus
· Support on-call duties, including weekends
· Passionate and committed to learning new things
Solid analytical and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time
Strong organization skills and attention to details
