What will you do?

  • Support of SQL Server batches & jobs : Monitoring, maintenance and housekeeping of SQL Server batches, jobs, stored procedures , adhoc scripts , SSIS packages and Databases, Writing and tuning SQL codes and highly customized jobs.
  • Infrastructure support of SQL Server: Support the DBAs in server/instance migrations (stand-alone and clustered), service-pack upgrades, hot fixes, client tool installs, readiness programs, new feature exploitation, research and development. 
  • BI support of SSIS and SSRS: Deployment, Security, performance tuning, Creating and enforcing Standards & best practices, automate repetitive tasks, designing, troubleshoot and diagnose issues with SSIS, SSRS. 
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with architects, peer designers, Business consultants and business to understand technical issues and recommend holistic solutions.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize artifact utilization. 
  • Should be flexible to support Nightly batch/On-call/Weekend Upgrades, Implementations and rostered Night shift if required. 

Role Definition:

  • I Design and development delivery within projects that is efficient, functional, and maintainable.
  • Apply analysis skills to understand and assess the impact of infrastructure and technical changes within the environment.
  • I will create required design and development documentation and participate in both design and code reviews.
  • I understand the software requirements and ensure it’s translated into good quality production - ready code basis provided design & instructions.
  • I understand the defined scope and timelines and deliver quality deliverable within the estimated time.
  • I attend and actively participate in the team ceremonies.
  • I support critical batches and reports.

Technical Skills:

  • 10+ Years of experience to lead SQL Data Development and Support Engineering team with good experience on SQL.
  • Proficient in designing, developing and supporting complex ETL pipeline (using SSIS and Informatica)
  • Proficient in designing, developing and supporting complex reports (using SSRS, Crystal and WEBI)
  • SQL Server Concepts like SQL Architecture, Indexes, T-SQL skills & DMV.
  • Database Maintenance/ Support tasks and lower level monitoring using tools like profiler, DMV, Perfmon
  • Troubleshooting & diagnose issues with both SSIS & SSRS (Deploy, design, Security, Tuning, Creating and enforcing Standards & best practices, automate)
  • Understanding of system tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers & SQL tuning
  • General troubleshooting like assisting clients with various issues related to connectivity, permissions, access, distributed queries issues, suggesting solutions, best practices etc.
  • Good knowledge of data-mapping and logical and physical data modeling.
  • AWS cloud experience (EC2, EMR, S3, Kinesis, Dynamo, API (Application Programming Interface) Gateway & LAMDA)

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of Performance Tuning by analyzing, optimizing and rewriting/re-designing SQL codes.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server database tuning using Profiler, Index Tuning Wizard, Dynamic Management Views and Functions (DMVs), and other third-party tools.
  • Knowledge of clustering, Always on / multi node clusters at the time of DR process.

    • Following up with customers when we say we will and delivering on our commitments.
    • Works under general supervision on day-to-day matters.
  • Understands our Business
    • Enhances understanding about the business of SLF (e.g. products and services, org structure, key competitors)
    • Understands how his/her role relates to the Business Unit/ Function's objectives

Technical Credentials: MCSE or MCSA certified in SQL Server (Preferred)
