Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing complex datasets, performing statistical analysis and providing insights that support data-informed decision making across the organisation. The role involves working with stakeholders across multiple teams to support research initiatives and improve operational effectiveness through data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, cleanse and analyse large datasets from a variety of sources.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, relationships and patterns in data.
  • Develop and maintain statistical models to support forecasting and predictive analytics.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Create and present reports and visualisations that communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
  • Maintain data quality and accuracy through regular validation and review processes.
  • Support best practice in data modelling, reporting and self-service analytics.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide analytical support for projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience using Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, time intelligence, data modelling, business metrics and user experience design.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including tabular, text and geospatial datasets.
  • Experience connecting Power BI to Azure SQL, Data Lake, APIs and SharePoint.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Experience working both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst, Power BI Developer or a similar role, including significant recent Power BI delivery experience.

Desirable Criteria

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
  • Knowledge of Copilot in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Familiarity with Python or R and associated analytical libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application to data analysis.
  • Experience supporting public sector or multi-agency programmes.
  • Knowledge of housing-related datasets or government programme reporting.
