The Position

As a Portfolio Lead at Roche your role is to lead Roche’s portfolio strategy across a defined number of disease areas and support the relevant teams that implement Roche’s solutions in Ireland. You work closely with disease area teams and together translate global strategies into local strategies and activities. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development and execution of portfolio strategy across a number of disease areas and associated outcome-based plans aligned with business goals. It ensures that a clear vision, high ambition, and defined outcomes for each disease area are realised. Strong cross-functional leadership is essential, fostering collaboration, engagement, and a shared team identity to support sustainable success.

  • Driving outcome-based planning by ensuring regular planning meetings and impact retrospectives while promoting a culture of creative feedback. It leverages best practices to create an environment that maximizes patient and business value. Additionally, it ensures accurate commercial forecasting for portfolio brands, strengthening communication and collaboration across functions.

  • Enabling resource prioritization with an enterprise mindset, considering affiliate strategies and portfolio priorities. The role also involves coaching and mentoring in commercial skills and capabilities to support team development.

  • Fostering strong relationships with global and affiliate colleagues amplifying business effectiveness.

  • While primarily office-based, occasional external engagement is expected.

Your profile: 

  • University degree (scientific, economic, or business degree). An advanced degree in Life Science and/or MBA is a plus. 

  • Prior strategy, sales, marketing, business development or relevant commercial experience is required.

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring, helping the development of others

  • Excellent understanding of the Irish healthcare ecosystem

  • Deep understanding of business drivers, local market & competition would be a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, inspire teamwork and collaboration among others

  • Experience leading and/or working in an agile environment

  • Capable of identifying opportunities beyond the product and generating customer value based insights

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, expressing ideas fluently and eloquently, communicating with impact and influence.
