What's the opportunity? 

It’s an exciting time to join the People Systems Team - we are rebuilding how we utilise our people systems. We are committed to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities around employee experience, optimising engagement and becoming deeply aligned with business priorities. 

In this position, you will partner with People teams and Business Leaders across Intercom to measure new initiatives and make recommendations around People Systems integrations and reporting usage and strategy. In addition to being experienced technically, we’re looking for someone who can proactively surface recommendations and insights, who's comfortable prioritising work across multiple stakeholders, and who can work across our technology stack in order to solve problems. 

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented People Systems Engineer  with expertise in Workday to join our dynamic People Systems Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and administration of new and existing  Workday integrations, ensuring its optimal functionality to support HR processes and initiatives, and building new and/or improving existing reports and dashboards. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on large collections of Workday integrations

  • Lead the research, design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday Integrations

  • Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings, and designs to support the entire integration deployment life-cycle

  • Work with business stakeholders to determine problem areas and overall impact of projects

  • Research integration failures, perform root cause analyses, and report back to management and business leaders. Develop plans to more forward the overall Workday strategy for Intercom

  • Partner with business leaders and Enterprise Systems teams to align on objectives and programs

  • Help manage the timelines and deliverables within large, multi-month projects

  • Understand data flows and system usage between internal systems and Workday, driving alignment with other system owners

  • Drive an overall data strategy for people-related data and Workday’s place in it

  • Create advanced reports using complex calculated fields using Workday reporting tools

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated Workday integration development experience using Workday’s integration tools (i.e., Reports-as-a-Service, Enterprise Interface Builder, Document Transformation, Connectors, Workday Studio, or similar)

  • Experience building and debugging Custom Reports, EIB’s, Connectors, Document Transforms, XSLT, and Workday Studio

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Strong understanding of HR processes and practices.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with the following Workday modules - Core HCM, Comp, Benefits, Payroll, Absence Management & Time Tracking

  • Workday Pro certifications in Integration Administration/WD Studio

  • Strong experience using XSLT to transform XML data from Workday reports and WS responses

  • Strong experience using industry-standard web services technology, which encompass WSDL, SOAP, REST, and the WS-* standards

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
