Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end Ireland payroll delivery for a high-volume, multi-site population (2,000+), using ADP GlobalView (SAP Payroll).
  • Operate as a hands-on working manager by actively managing the payroll cycle through governance, review and approvals (e.g., input validation oversight, gross-to-net review, post-payroll reconciliation review/sign-off), troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, and ensuring appropriate controls, segregation of duties and compliance with Irish statutory requirements and company policy.
  • Supervise and coach remote, cross-geo payroll team members, provide day-to-day guidance and subject matter expertise and support onboarding and training of new hires to ensure consistent execution and coverage. Manage payroll calendars, interfaces and controls, and ensure accurate and timely issue resolution.

Ensure timely customer service to employees.
  • Travel to ADI sites to meet with Business Partners and HR colleagues, support onsite collaboration, and host employee drop-in clinics to address payroll and pay related queries, strengthen relationships and improve the employee experience as required.
  • Prepare and deliver month end payroll-related business and grant reporting, including validated payroll data, reconciliations and supporting schedules, partnering with Finance and relevant stakeholders to support financial close, grant compliance and audit requirements.
  • Serve as a key payroll partner in the ongoing Time and Attendance system implementation, providing oversight and strong working knowledge of time and attendance processes, pay rules and system design, to ensure effective integration with payroll, accurate pay outcomes, and robust controls.

Required Qualifications:

  • IPASS Payroll certification is a plus.
  • Experience delivering Ireland payroll in an in-house model for 2,000+ employees across multiple sites.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting payroll in a unionised environment and applying collective agreement rules to pay.
  • Proven ability to operate as a hands-on working manager—providing day-to-day leadership, technical guidance, issue escalation management, SOX/control ownership support, coaching and training (including onboarding new hires), and stakeholder partnership—while maintaining accountability for payroll accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
  • Proficiency in various payroll applications and databases, such as ADP GlobalView, SAP Payroll, UKG Dimensions, Kronos Workforce Central, Workday, or Core HR.
  • Strong systems and data proficiency, advanced Excel skills, high attention to detail, strong customer service orientation, and excellent written/verbal communication.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including pivots, V-lookups, and formulas. Knowledge of macros is a plus.

  • Ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation and requirements, including PAYE/USC/PRSI and statutory leave, and overseeing operational activities related to PAYE Modernisation (e.g., payroll submissions/reporting via Revenue systems as applicable). Interpreting and applying collective bargaining/union agreements to payroll processing (e.g., overtime, shift differentials, allowances, leave, retroactive pay) and partnering with HR/Employee Relations and site leadership on pay-related escalations.
  • Supervising, training and supporting payroll team members, including onboarding and training new hires; providing day-to-day guidance on processes, controls, audits and issue resolution, and stepping in as needed to troubleshoot and support timely payroll delivery during critical cycles.
  • Performing, documenting and evidencing payroll controls (including SOX-relevant controls) and audits—such as pre- and post-payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, access/approval workflows and segregation-of-duties checks; partnering closely with internal and external auditors to support walkthroughs, testing and timely remediation; identifying root causes of control exceptions and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Managing employee payroll inquiries and escalations with a customer-first approach, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
  • Travel to ADI sites to meet with Business Partners and HR colleagues, support onsite collaboration, and host employee drop-in clinics to address payroll and pay related queries, strengthen relationships and improve the employee experience as required.
  • Preparing and delivering periodic payroll metrics and reporting (e.g., pay, hours, overtime, absence trends), supporting Finance with accruals and management reporting requirements. Partnering with HR, Benefits and local management on policy and operational changes impacting pay (e.g., new/changed shift patterns, allowances, leave programs) and ensuring payroll readiness.
  • Owning payroll system administration and data governance for Ireland payroll within ADP GlobalView (SAP), including coordination of master data changes, pay element configuration support, and management of key inbound/outbound interfaces (e.g., time and attendance, HR/benefits, GL) in partnership with HRIS/IT and vendors.
