This role sits at the operational core of our HR Operations team, reporting directly to the Director, Global Payroll. It ensures the accuracy and timeliness of payroll input data for Moderna's 16-country footprint outside the United States. The position demands a meticulous individual who can manage high-volume, highly manual processes with precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to data integrity. In this role, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the consistency and compliance of our global payroll operations, while also helping to shape how Moderna evolves and streamlines payroll coordination on an international scale. The complexity of our systems and the diversity of our vendor landscape will offer the right candidate significant exposure to cross-functional collaboration, system optimization, and an evolving digital HR environment with future-facing potential to contribute to automation and generative AI solutions.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Your key responsibilities will be:
Own the monthly payroll input process for all countries outside the US.
Consolidate core payroll inputs across various internal systems and stakeholders.
Review, reconcile, and correct data, including manual entries where necessary.
Maintain and update payroll input templates reflecting all employee movements.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Audit and validate Time & Absence and Overtime reports, resolving discrepancies with HR Business Partners.
Finalise and upload input files into external payroll provider portals and act as main point-of-contact for data-related queries.
Maintain high standards of data integrity in Workday and across payroll templates.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, including SOX support and audit readiness.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements to optimize payroll input and validation workflows.

In this role, you’ll navigate a complex, manual global payroll ecosystem. Rapid mastery of country-specific inputs and vendor systems will be essential to maintain timely and accurate payroll operations.“We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.”
Your ability to identify repeatable processes and areas where automation or tool integration (including emerging Generative AI technologies) can reduce manual effort will directly enhance operational scalability and accuracy.
Here’s What You’ll Do (Basic Qualifications):
1–3 years’ experience in Payroll, HR Operations or Total Rewards
Working knowledge of Workday or other HRIS systems
Experience working with payroll files and benefit provider inputs
Strong Excel skills – confident using VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and linking formulas
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Clear communicator, with strong written and spoken English
Comfort working across time zones and with country-specific payroll nuances
