This position is an initial 6 month FTC and we will consider any of our Office Locations in Ireland, Poland or the UK.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a part-qualified accountant with strong practical experience in Ireland & UK (FRS Framework) to join our Finance team on an initial 6 month FTC.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Payroll (ideally Ireland & UK), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and financial reporting. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly Payroll Processing: 

  • Prepare monthly payrolls for Ireland & UK. 
  • Work closely with the HR department to ensure accurate payments to staff 
  • Prepare payroll journals. 
  • Handle payroll tax reporting 
  • Manage pensions and benefits related to payroll. 


Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable: 

  • Process supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations as well as management of expenses for Ireland. 
  • Manage customer invoicing and aged debts and Working closely with Client Fund Accounts Receivable 


General Ledger & Month-End Closing: 

  • Post journal entries and maintain accurate GL records. 
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. 


Multiple Bank Reconciliations: 

  • Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, including Commercial banks and Client Funds Accounts 


Financial Reporting: 

  • Supporting preparation of management reports, cost analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliations. 
  • Support preparation of statutory accounts in line with FRS Framework. 


Compliance & Controls: 

  • Maintain adherence to internal controls and company policies. 
  • Support audit processes and provide required documentation. 


Team cross-training: 

  • Participate in cross‑training initiatives to develop skills in areas outside the core function, supporting broader team flexibility and professional growth 

Requirements and Skills:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, SKWP, or equivalent). 
  • Payroll qualification is a bonus 
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting & payroll experience. 
  • Strong working knowledge of FRS standards and Irish accounting practices. 
  • Proven experience in AR/AP/GL and financial reporting. 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (XeroParolla an advantage). 
  • Advanced Excel skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 

Package and Benefits:

Additional Info:

  • Scope: Role covers all Medserv office locations and business units.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to other sites will be required.
  • Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
  • Support: A structured training programme will be delivered to ensure a comprehensive handover across all platform tools and role responsibilities.
