What’s the scope?
Reporting into the Legal Director EMEA you will assist the Kontoor Brands EMEA legal team in a wide range of corporate and legal matters. You will ensure that our legal entities are up-to-date with the latest corporate requirements and are responsible for the smooth operation of legal processes.
Your responsibilities as our Paralegal;
- You are responsible for the corporate housekeeping, i.e. among other things, updating the corporate documents and related legal publications. As such you will be the point of contact for notaries, lawyers and other parties in the context of certificates, powers of attorney, statements and official filings.
- You will manage the documentation execution process, including notarization, legalization and other formalities; You will also organize all files and documents of the legal department, including their digital classification and maintain them updated in the available legal databases;
- With support of the legal counsels and in collaboration with the respective business departments of Kontoor, you analyse, compare and edit advice for non-complex business agreements;
- You investigate certain laws and opinion pieces and prepare summaries for legal counsels;
- You support the legal team in the implementation of various projects and tools and coordinate closely between external and internal stakeholders both in US, LATM and APAC;
- You are an essential part for the interpretation of legal vs. business guidelines and ensure compliance throughout the company; You assist in implementing legal processes and policies in the EMEA region.
Skills for Success:
- Preferably you have 3-4 years of experience in an international business environment
- Bachelor’s degree in legal Practice or equivalent through experience
- Fluent English with any additional European Language considered as a plus
- Good knowledge of the usual MS Office applications, knowledge of SharePoint and specific legal department specific software (e.g. Legal Tracker, Klea, CSC Dashboard) is an absolute plus
- Attention to detail and ability to follow direction and procedures while working independently
- Good planning & strong organization skills: ability to work under pressure, capability to combine multiple tasks and to work against deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Legal research and investigation skills
- Enthusiastic, with a ‘can-do’ approach and discretion (ability to deal with confidential information)
