As the Operations Lead Hand, you will qualify and perform the operating responsibilities and layout within a specified unit of the refinery. In this role, you will ensure the health and safety, environmental compliance, and the reliable operation of the Ethanol Plant.Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years+ of experience within an operating facility
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) with a third class TSSA certificate
- Demonstrated understanding of all the process equipment and procedures
- Evidence of Operational Discipline behaviors displayed in daily work and decision making required
- Ability to effectively model leadership behaviors in all areas of the operation including safety, production and people issues
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage & positively influence people
- Demonstrate good computer skills or ability to learn new programs that will be needed for role. (e.g., Microsoft, Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, SAP4, Workday, Enablon, etc.,)
Responsibilities:
- Perform all operational functions according to St. Clair Ethanol EH&S standards and Standard Operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Have a complete understanding of all the process equipment including boilers, pumps, motors, evaporators, distillation vacuums and DDG & grain equipment as demonstrated through the successful completion of each of the three operating levels
- Demonstrate safety and OEMS leadership by leading and participating in safety meetings, safety and housekeeping tours, critical task observations, safe work permit audits, start of shift meetings, FLHA’s, etc.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors regarding operating procedures; work collaboratively within the crew to achieve production targets, “Own” the equipment / production results and understand and articulate production goals
- Provide coverage for the Shift Supervisor and accept the authority and responsibility, particularly related to acting as Incident Commander for Emergency Response, participating in planned emergency response drills, assist with Turn Around preparation, execution and start up activities, manage operations shift staffing including overtime approval and call-ins as required
- Use incident reporting forms for reporting injury / incident / property damage and use incident action forms for completing and assigning follow up incident actions
- Entry of work requests for maintenance items, equipment, etc.
- Ensure all process P&IDs are kept up to date and filed for easy retrieval
- Accurately complete logbooks, transfer sheets and inventory sheets
- Supervise, Co-ordinate and direct the activities of each shift member
- You will work out of our St. Clair Ethanol Plant, located in Mooretown, ON
- The shift schedule is 3 days on, 3 days off, 12 hour days rotation
- This position has been identified as safety sensitive
