Operation Sports is a leading news and content provider focused on the sports video games industry. Founded and operated by experienced sports video games industry veterans, the site has long been considered the premier destination for the hardcore sports game. The Operation Sports team is now looking to add some more passionate sports gaming writers to the team. This is a fully remote position.

Working with Operation Sports is a great opportunity to cover your favorite sports games, from the latest news to in-depth breakdowns of mechanics and in-game systems. Applicants should be motivated self-starters with an attention to detail.

We're looking for candidates who understand the Operation Sports brand and have expert knowledge of any of the franchises listed below. A writing sample on one of these franchises is required to be considered for the role.

  • Gran Turismo
  • F1
  • Forza Motorsport
  • NASCAR
  • DiRT
  • WRC

Responsibilities:

  • Help cover the latest new releases in the sports and racing genres with news, features, op-eds and comprehensive guides coverage
  • Update evergreen content when required
  • Submit clean copy with minimal edits
  • Meet deadlines for publishing stories
  • React to trending topics quickly
  • Pitch your own ideas based on your expert knowledge of the subject matter and understanding of the racing game community

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English and excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of SEO practices, WordPress, Trello, and Google Trends
  • Passionate about the racing game community

To Be Considered:

Please provide a resume, 1-3 relevant writing samples or a portfolio link (an application without a writing sample will not be considered), and a cover letter that explains your expertise in video games, telling us which games/topics you're most knowledgeable about.

Rates: $16-250 per article depending on length and content type.
