The role / impact

As the New Business Sales Manager, you will lead our Canadian BDR and Account Executive teams, driving the day-to-day activities that help small businesses thrive through beautiful software. You will be responsible for creating a high-performing and rewarding environment, executing inbound and outbound sales motions that build lucrative pipeline coverage and achieve full quota attainment.

Your work directly influences Xero's market share within the partner sales channel. By interpreting data to identify performance improvements and developing out-of-the-box prospecting strategies, you will ensure the team delivers real-time value to our customers while maintaining expert-level knowledge of our platform's business applications.

The team / how they connect

You will join a collaborative sales leadership team focused on the Americas, working closely with marketing and product marketing to align on growth strategies. Your role sits at the heart of our New Business unit, where you will mentor a team of six direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability and transparent communication to hit collective targets.

The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on

  • Strategically developing a Canadian account executive strategy that challenges the status quo and identifies high-value opportunities.

  • Implementing and refining prospecting cadence tools and sales activities using Salesforce to ensure robust CRM hygiene.

  • Driving the hiring, interviewing, and successful onboarding of new team members to expand our reach in the region.

  • Analysing and reporting on weekly forecasting and 3x pipeline conversions to ensure consistent revenue and net new CMR growth.

  • You bring a track record of success in leading outbound sales teams, ideally within a software or SaaS environment.

  • A natural ability to influence others through clear presentation and the communication of complex data analysis is essential.

  • You will have an inquisitive and positive mindset when approaching complex problems and developing strategic call plans.

  • Your background includes experience driving accountability across inside sales teams while maintaining excellent interpersonal and consultative skills.

  • You possess the skills to recognise and employ various interaction styles to achieve desired outcomes and team alignment.

  • Experience navigating Salesforce or similar CRM systems to manage pipeline and improve sales team capabilities is vital.
