Job requisition: Spirits National Account Manager: On Trade Groups

Location: Nationwide

Role Overview

The role will play a pivotal role in shaping Diageo’s growth within the National On-Trade Groups, Key Accounts, and Route-to-Market (RTM) channels. Focusing exclusively on our world-class spirits portfolio, this role will be responsible for driving profitable growth, building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, and ensuring that Diageo’s premium and luxury spirits brands are at the forefront of the on-trade experience.

The role will act as the vital link between On-Trade customers and route to market partners, ensuring Diageo’s products are consistently accessible and widely available in the market.

In addition, this role will serve as a key support for the wider commercial team, providing insights, fostering collaboration, and contributing to the overall execution of Diageo’s commercial strategies.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in group and key account management or commercial roles, ideally within the spirits or FMCG sectors.
  • Deep understanding of the on-trade landscape, including customer dynamics and Route-to-market strategies.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with a history of delivering profitable growth.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and develop creative solutions that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement tailored strategies to enhance Diageo’s spirits presence and growth within National On-Trade Groups, Key Accounts, and Route-to-Market channels.
  • Lead on building sustainable plans for growth for the Diageo and Diageo’s customers.
  • Create and manage Joint Business Plans (JBPs) to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets.

2. Market Insight & Commercial Excellence:

  • Utilise data-driven insights to identify trends, customer opportunities, and areas for growth.
  • Monitor account performance against objectives and adjust strategies to maximise results.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing strategies, promotional guidelines, and Diageo’s standards for execution.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, customer marketing, off trade and supply chain, to deliver seamless execution of commercial plans.
  • Act as the key liaison between Diageo and its Route- to-market partners, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Represent the needs and priorities of spirits customers within Diageo to influence internal decision-making.
