Job Title: Marketing & Strategy Finance Business Partner

Duration: 6 months

Location: Dublin

About the role

This will be a key financial business partner supporting the Marketing  function in Ireland and working with our marketing teams to create winning strategic plans, and provide business and financial support on key resourcing and investment decisions. As an expert in understanding short and long term Return of all investment, you will support the deployment and optimisation of A&P investment to deliver improved Return of Investment & profit.

The Decision support Manager will play a key role in the development of the 3-5 Years Strategy for Ireland, by owning the modelling and clearly articulating the assumptions within.

The role involves total Ireland level responsibility, which involves collaborating across the business, at all levels of seniority. Daily close co-operation is required with all Ireland A&P budget owners and finance teams based across Dublin, Belfast, Budapest, and India.

The Decision Support Manager will be an essential member of the Ireland Finance organisation and will report to the Head of Marketing Finance & Strategy!

About You

  • Qualified Accountant or MBA with a strong academic record and 3 years PQE
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect
  • Ability to manage, plan ahead, prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Strong commercial competence, broad business perspective – a ‘hands-on’ and in-depth understanding of the nuts and bolts of a business

Key Responsibilities

The Decision Support Manager has three key areas of responsibility:

Finance Business Partner to the Marketing function:

  • Key role in the oversight and optimisation of Ireland’s total A&P spend during the planning, forecasting, and reporting stages.
  • Work closely with the A&P Analyst, based in GBO, to ensure accurate A&P reporting and quality monthly forecasting.
  • Throughout the year the Decision Support Manager should be able to explain drivers of variance between agreed plans/strategy to senior management.
  • Work closely with marketing teams to optimise all areas of A&P spend to deliver short and long-term business goals.
  • Play a leading role in the A&P planning process from Annual Strategy Planning to budget setting to ensure investment is aligned to our strategic priorities.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement to ensure marketing finance processes are best in class.

Development of 5 Year Strategy:

  • Own the modelling to support the development of the 3-5 Year Strategy for Ireland.
  • Develop and articulate key assumptions underpinning the model.
  • Collaborate with Category teams to understand market forecasts and impact on Diageo performance.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing Finance& Strategy to present the plans to senior members of the Exec.

Business Support:

  • Provide financial and business support to key projects (eg. high value projects, innovation gate papers, CAPEX requests).
